Factory tour · Dongguan, China
Inside the OSHID factory.
The reason we can quote in specifics is that the whole process happens here — tooling, molding, printing and inspection under one roof in Dongguan, the centre of the world's keyboard supply chain. This is where your keycaps would be made.
Location: Dongguan, Guangdong, China. Since: 2005. Scale: 60,000 m² headquarters factory, four production bases, 1,500+ staff, 162 injection-molding machines (85–600 tons). In-house: mold design & tooling, injection molding (incl. double-shot), legend printing (dye-sub, silk-screen, UV, laser), finishing, measurement and packing. Why it matters: no outsourcing of the steps that decide quality, so feasibility and problems are caught before your tooling is cut.
The toolroom
Everything starts with the mold. Our in-house toolroom designs and cuts the mold families for each profile and custom sculpt, which is what lets us tool a new profile without handing the project to a third party — and why tooling is the biggest fixed cost in a keycap project.
The molding floor
Rows of injection-molding machines run the caps, including double-shot production where a second plastic forms the legend. Keeping molding in-house is what holds wall-thickness and dimensional consistency across a long run.
Legend printing & the measurement room
From the molding floor, caps move to legend printing — dye-sublimation, silk-screen, UV and laser — and through a measurement room where a CMM and optical comparator verify dimensions. See the full inspection flow on our quality control page.
Want to see it live?
We can arrange a live video walkthrough of the floor for a serious project — one of the fastest ways to confirm you're dealing with a real factory rather than a trading company. Send your project details and we'll set it up.
